My Favorite Online To Do List
Many of you have asked how I stay organized, so this week I wanted to share my favorite dead-simple online to-do list solution.
First, a confession: I’m a little addicted to organizing apps and systems! Yes, I am one of those people that wastes hours of time on “productivity” websites – go figure!
I’ve checked out many online to-do lists and most of them are just too complicated. You spend all your time fiddling with the features instead of getting stuff done!
That’s why I was so excited when I found this week’s pick, TeuxDeux.com.
(In case you’re confused by the name, it’s pronounced like deux in French, so it sounds kind of like to-do.)
TeuxDeux is completely free and amazingly simple. You just add your item to a list, and check it off when you’re done. All of your unfinished tasks automatically move over to the next day’s list. There’s also a “someday” area for tasks that you want to remember, but don’t yet have timeline for.
Check out TeuxDeux.com and see if it’s right for you

Nice find – I’ve been keeping mine in my Google tasks, but then I forget to check them and they just sit there for ages. Will check it out! Thanks for sharing!

Laura,
This is why I love you – such practical and USEFUL advice – always.
Have a great weekend.

Very clean. I like that there’s an iPhone app for TeuxDeux. That would be very handy.
However, for me, I like my ToDo list to live right on my desktop, always there so my tasks are never out of sight. There a lots of widgets and programs for this but I like the notes/to-do thingies that I can enable through my Rainmeter software.

I just found TeuxDeux yesterday. I love it already. The creators are so funny.

Looks awesome. But, can you set an alarm and will you get an alert in case you forget something?
That’s one of my biggest problems when it comes to doing things. I create long lists, but I keep forgetting to do the things on the lists

@Jens P. Berget: no, there isn’t anything like that in Teux Deux.
I suppose it’s a precise choice by the developers, in order to maintain the tool as simple and easy to use as possible.
What works for me is making short lists and having them always at hand. Trust me: by doing so, you’ll never need to set alerts!

Hi Marco,
Thanks a lot for the reply. I’m going to test Teux Deux. As you’re saying if you are having them always at hand, I might not need the alerts. Great advice.

I LOVE Teux Deux. It has made my life so much more organized! And I love the fact that they have an app, so I can have my to do list with me at all times. It’s very liberating to be able to cross things off your list all day long. Thanks for sharing!

I really like the simplicity of this todo list (and their humor!), but having my tasks integrated into my Google calendar so that I can plan them along with the other activities in my life is a must! I recently found http://www.gqueues.com/ and love it. You have to pay $25/year for this feature (there’s also a free option without it), but after all my searching for this integration option to work seamlessly with no luck, I was happy to shell out the money – for once!
