Double Double Your Profits – with Laura Roeder & Cameron Herold

Posted on June 9, 2011

Cameron Herold has personally taught me the principles that allowed me to double my business from 2009 to 2010, and then again already just halfway through the year in 2011.

His new book, Double Double is my business bible, in fact my entire team is currently going through it chapter-by-chapter to put Cameron’s guidance in place.

I asked Cameron if I could get him on a live webinar to help you apply the “Double Double” principles to your one-person or very small businesses. He’s the one that taught me that a tiny business like mine could have a  “corporate culture”, and attract the best talent out there.

We discussed “painted pictures” and the other strategies that have made the biggest, fastest impact on doubling my business. Cameron charges top dollar to coach the top executives in the world, so this is a rare opportunity.

Grab a notebook and watch the video below for a packed hour of content!

Thank you Laura, for making such awesome content available for all of us.
And special thanks to Cameron for sharing your expertise and experience.
Your concise summary of outsourcing tasks is invaluable. Love that quote: “If you don’t have an assistant, you are one!”
    Wishing you well-
    Nanette

  12. Hey Laura and Cameron, this was definitely one of the most valuable webinars I’ve watched in a long time. My biggest takeaway was the “assistant” one, but also the different ways of paying employees and motivating them at the same time.

I’ve been emailing my painted picture to my friends, family, and will likely be posting parts of it on my blog. Because I want more people to see it so they can support me in my vision. :)

This was an excellent interview — thank you so much! I can’t decide what (besides the Painted Picture) my best takeaway is. Maybe the emphasis on focus, which you emphasize too, which has always been an issue for me, and which is becoming (during Rich Happy & Hot B-School) a life-changing challenge. I did enjoy Cameron Herold’s response to the question of what to do about having many ideas: that it just means you’re an entrepreneur! But, honestly, the whole interview is so packed with useful information, trying to list the best points would amount to transcribing it. By the way, I drove to Barnes & Noble and bought his book a couple of hours after the webinar, so thank you for that, too. I think it complements B-School.

    Hey Laura and Cameron,

Firstly let me just say that I am loving B-school. Thanks for this webinar. I so love the concept of the painted picture and stepping away from the computer and working on it while connecting to nature and allowing yourself that time to really get into the activity.

I think it was really powerful to hear all of the concrete examples of visions coming into fruition!!

    Thank you.

I agree with everyone else! Fantastic interview chock full of amazing content. Key take-aways: The Painted Picture, the “Can You Imagine Wall”, the spreadsheet technique for outsourcing, “If you don’t have an assistant, you are one”, share your painted picture with everyone, Focus (top 5 things), “Workaholics are not successful”, downtime shows the reason for working and offers clarity of purpose, “You don’t motivate people, you inspire them”, be really clear on your vision and how you will measure against it, “Having multiple ideas just means you’re an entrepreneur!, “Pick the ones you are most excited about and try to stay hyperfocused”. Great supplement to B-School too! Thanks to you both.

Thanks, as always Laura and team for an informative interview. For me the “Queen of Busy” the key takeaway was to start the day focusing on the top 5 tasks and not fill my time with busy work. Work that makes me appear like I’m accomplishing a great deal when in reality I’m just spinning my wheels. Favorite quote, “Workaholics aren’t successful, they are just busy.”

Thank you, Laura and Cameron. That was a great interview!

I really enjoy the idea of looking back at your week to enjoy your successes and feel energized for the coming week! I learned a lot.

    Thank you again!!

  22. Great, no fantastic, interview yesterday packed with invaluable takeaways. One of my favorite suggestions – write down all the activities you do in a month, label them, then outsource anything that you aren’t “excellent” at or have a “unique ability” to perform. To focus instead on the things that inspire you instead of wasting time on the things that drain.

Within 10 minutes of being on the call, I hopped on Amazon and bought Cameron’s book. It just arrived and I’m looking forward to dig in further.

    Thanks again!

I was really struck by how “working smarter vs. harder” has evolved with lightening speed during the last couple of years. Super concrete and actionable advice, from firing customers not adding value to if you don’t have an assistant, YOU are an assistant (to yourself!). Book has been downloaded – thank you!

Thanks, Laura, for the webinar! I particularly loved your inquiry with him on work/life balance.

Last night, I had a convo with my beau about the webinar — yeah, I bored him to tears. But it has paid off! My beau and I this morning, and before checking email, sat down and put down on paper (no computer permitted for the lists!) 5 things that we were going to accomplish today, and shared them aloud with eachother. It’s dinnertime, and we both have 70% success….which I am happy with, as we feel refreshed (not drained!) like I have been lately!

Next up: iPhone overnight plug in at office, not nightstand — will try it tonight — but I am really fearing it! Sheesh…..I didn’t know that I was so addicted. Scratch that — yes I did. :)

Ahhhh-HaHa! Listening to this right now. Love it.

With regard to the “Watered Down Vision”, people often think think that the least objectionable idea – the one everyone can agree on – is the same thing as the BEST idea. Definitely not! Well said.

Thanks Laura, listened to this 5 times! The phrase “A man can sit on one toilet at a time!” got me thinking. So I decided to fired my boss yesterday! and will focus on my business with B-school. Yeah!

Thanks Laura and Cameron, this was an hour well spent! My biggest takeaways are about focus – REALLY need to work on not going to email first thing in the morning. My accountability partner just turned me on to Teamly last week and we’re giving it a go.

I have been working on some variations of my painted picture in recent months, though I didn’t know what to call it! I will definitely be making some of that public on my revamped website so I can attract clients that are in line with that vision.

    Thanks again!

  32. Excellent interview and full of focused content and actionable items and concepts to embraces. I must go now get the Double Double book now. Thanks for sharing this with those of us who didn’t know about the live webinar.

  33. Just listened to this webinar for a second time and am amazed at how much I got out of it again! Lots of stuff to implement, and I am definitely going to treat myself to his book.

My favorite part? Creating a can you imagine wall – definitely going to start doing this! Also, creating a painted picture and looking back on what you accomplished last week.

Can’t wait to read the book!

Personal favourite quote – ‘entrepreneurs have ADD and mild signs of Manic Depression, that’s what makes them so great at what they do’ – That just sits so well, total aha moment!
I hope Cameron is putting together a ‘quotes’ book or something like that because the wisdom there really resonates, and obviously not just with me!

Great quality content, again. Thank you Laura!
